In my first blog, I mentioned that I used to only work out twice a week. There are a few reasons as to why. One, prior to working out twice a week, I used to work out zero times a week. Therefore, I thought twice a week was pretty darn good! The other main reason is that I was overwhelmed with my job and just did not have any extra time to devote
to the gym. I wanted to go to the gym more, but I just couldn’t scrape up any extra time!
Although I only worked out twice a week, I still had high hopes of attaining a slimmer body. I don’t know what I was thinking, but it had to have been something like “My fat WILL spontaneously combust without me putting in the effort.” I wish! There comes a point in time where you have to reflect on what you’re doing. If you’re not seeing any changes in your body for the better, then maybe you ought to revamp your diet and exercise routine. Why would you continue what you are currently doing if you are not seeing any results?
After learning about Leaner Living and its philosophies, I realized that it wasn’t that I didn’t have time to go to the gym, it was that my health wasn’t that high of a priority for me. While I could find time to watch LOST, re-runs of FRIENDS, and log onto Facebook, finding time for a workout was impossible. We always make time for things we want to do.
Now that I have moved my priorities around, I ideally make it to the gym at least 5 times a week. Now, I actually want to go to the gym. Can you believe it? For all my friends out there that really know me, you know my old self would have rather popped a movie into the DVD player than get off my butt and do something! You will want to go to the gym too once you start seeing results. It’s addicting, and for me, I am getting into the best shape of my life and I’m always wondering what my true potential is, so I keep going to the gym and continue to eat healthy.
The bottom line here is that if you don’t make health and fitness a higher priority, then your dreams are unlikely to become a reality. If you still think getting fit is too difficult, just remember what I always say, “If it were easy, everybody would do it!”

Awesome Rachel*
I so appreciate the Leaner Living philosophy – It’s genuine and just makes sense.
No matter where I’ve been or what I’ve been doing, and no matter how close I get to my health goals/physique, consistency has always been my battle.
Girl, your transformation and everything you’ve been doing is very inspiring! “Thank You!” Keep it going!
XO,
