Our focus is generally on health and fitness from a perspective of eating well and exercising, but that isn’t the whole story. Other factors play a big role if neglected. You can eat the best foods in the world and exercise as much as you would like, but if you are ignoring these other “X Factors,” then it will substantially reduce the effectiveness of your otherwise healthful lifestyle. Almost like the cliche of a chain, you are only as strong as your weakest link! In this section we will discuss factors such as psychological issues, toxins we put in our bodies, external stressors, and sleep deprivation. These things may seem obvious, but need to be addressed in order for an ideal lifestyle.
One first section we would like to highlight is our Measurement Guide. Starting any new diet / exercise / lifestyle program should include an initial evaluation as well as tracking of measurable outcomes (e.g. weight, body fat, cholesterol, etc). This is important because as you create your goals you will want to know if you are headed toward or away from them.
Because one’s sleeping habits are extremely important for health we have included our basic guide to better sleep called Lean Sleep Habits. Getting adequate sleep is a basic concept that seems to be overlooked by doctors and everyone else for that matter. It is so powerful that even when your diet and exercise are optimized, poor sleeping habits can negate all of it! Did you know that poor sleep could contribute to diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes and Heart Disease? We would like to emphasize that these habits are just as important as our Diet and Exercise habits.
